On behalf of our TXST FCA, our board of directors, our coaches and athletes, and Kim and I, we sincerely appreciate your generous support and prayers. We are so grateful for your gifts and volunteer support of our ministry over the past 4 years to the many coaches, athletes, families and staff that we serve.
The last week has been unprecedented for our community, nation, and the world due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19. Based on the latest decision from Texas State University, most everything will be delayed until May 1 or cancelled all together. Please be in prayer for so many in our TXST athletic family—as so many have had their worlds turned upside down—from our senior athletes, to our coaches and their families as well as our amazing staff.
To ensure the safety of everyone, we will be rescheduling our upcoming Night of Champions fundraising event, previously scheduled for March 25. By following the CDC and Hays County Health Department guidelines, we are doing our part to help stop the potential spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19. Though we are heart-broken at the necessity of this action, we believe it is the right decision. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will communicate with you as decisions are made. Our goal is to reschedule our Banquet for some time in May—obviously based on the situation at that time.
Until then, Kim and I and our board will continue to reach out to coaches, athletes and staff and love on them via phone calls, text messages, DM, Face Time and other media outlets. We are continuing our Monday night Huddle meetings this coming Monday evening at 7:30 via Zoom Call. This will allow all of our athletes to log on and see everyone. Please pray that this time will be Spirit-led, Spirit-filled and encouraging to all that join.
We are grateful for your partnership and we thank you for remembering TXST FCA as we continue to operate in what are very extraordinary times. With the challenges of today, we anticipate being highly impacted financially. Our expenses will continue while our fundraising will quite possibly decrease. 1) Pray for our TXST FCA and our TXST Athletic Family. So many are hurting.
2) Stay safe and promote social distancing—as hard as this may be for some (me included.)
3) Give so our TXST FCA can continue to operate during this critical time as we continue to serve the needs of our TXST athletes, coaches, families and staff.
